ICTAS seed investments for junior faculty: Apply by Feb. 1

The Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science is soliciting proposals for its Junior Faculty Program, which awards seed investments to interdisciplinary faculty teams. To be eligible, proposals must meet the following requirements:
- The prinicipal investigator must be a Virginia Tech junior faculty member (pre-tenure tenure track, or AP or research faculty hired after 2/1/17).
- Co-principal investigators must include at least one other Virginia Tech faculty member; a senior faculty member in a mentorship role is desirable but not required.
- Investigators should be from different academic disciplines.
- Proposal topics must be aligned with one of the following Destination Areas: Data and Decisions, Integrated Security, Global Systems Science, Intelligent Infrastructure for Human Centered Communities, Adaptive Brain and Behavior or Economic and Sustainable Materials.
ICTAS intends to award up to four grants of up to $80,000 ($40,000 per year for two years), with funding anticpated to begin July 2021 (FY22). Second-year funding is contingent on satisfactory progress and resource availability.
