Former mattress store offers soft landing for TLOS

From: Division of Information Technology

The entrance to the TLOS suite features a large collaboration space with a variety of seating options.

Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS) is excited to announce they have moved to University Mall, 801 University City Blvd, Suite 21, (mail code: 0292) to occupy the former Mattress and Furniture store. The move will allow most of the TLOS team to be in closer proximity and thus collaborate more readily than they could in their former collection of suites in Torgersen Hall. The move also supports the expansion of the Department of Computer Science classrooms and offices in Torgersen Hall.

TLOS' new home includes a variety of collaboration spaces, a professional development classroom, a formal conference room, a break room/kitchen, and a DIY video production studio. The newly renovated suite has built-in perimeter offices with modular walls forming the interior offices. With most of the TLOS team still working remotely, there is limited ability to loan equipment or facilitate in-person consultations. Virtual consultations are available through Zoom.

Smaller collaboration spaces are also available.

As part of the move plan, Torgersen 1070, 1090, 1100, 1120, 1140, 1160, 1200, 1210, 1230, 3060, 3120, 3200, and 3210 have transitioned to Computer Science. Accessible Technologies’ offices will stay in 2020 Torgersen Hall to remain closer to Services for Students with Disabilities and the students and faculty they serve, and has been assigned a new mail code (0158).
