Call for nominations: XCaliber Award 2019
From: Division of Information Technology
The XCaliber Award — shorthand for exceptional, high-caliber contributions to technology-enriched learning activities — celebrates courses and significant projects that demonstrate exemplary use of technology and student-centered pedagogy.
This annual award is funded by the Office of the Provost and presented by Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS) within the Division of Information Technology. Recipients receive a cash award and a commemorative plaque and are invited to showcase their award-winning activities at a special event.
Recent awardees from the Departments of Geography, English, History, and Computer Science integrated technology into their courses by
- studying human behavior patterns to assess the effectiveness of pedagogical approaches.
- preserving 19th-century poetry to strengthen modern communication competencies while honing research and analysis skills.
- digitizing soldiers’ WWII artifacts to emphasize the individual effects of war.
- using online simulations to provide opportunities to practice data analysis.

To apply for the XCaliber Award, the individual faculty member or team leader should complete the nomination packet and submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Feb. 22, 2019.
