Mac users advised to update Zoom app
From: Division of Information Technology
Zoom has released an update to fix the vulnerability in the Zoom application for Mac that may allow malicious websites to remotely access a computer’s audio and video. Users will be prompted to run the update the next time the app is launched. No action is needed by users who connect to Zoom via their web browser and have not downloaded the zoom.us Mac app.
Users that do not have system access to install software can avoid the vulnerability by changing their default audio/video settings to be off when joining a meeting. For instructions on how to change the default settings, visit the Zoom Knowledge Base article “Video or Microphone Off By Attendee.”
