iTHRIV research portal now open for faculty, students
July 15, 2019
Virginia Tech faculty will engage with the University of Virginia and Inova Health System to build infrastructure and programs to integrate the biomedical research enterprises, ultimately improving health care throughout the state. Here are some of the iTHRIV team members at a recent organizational meeting in Charlottesville.

The integrated Translational Health Research Institute of Virginia (iTHRIV) portal is a new tool available to researchers and students at Virginia Tech who are interested in conducting research that will improve health outcomes across the commonwealth.
The portal launch marks the completion of an initial phase stemming from the $23 million National Institutes of Health collaborative Clinical and Translational Science Award. Participating institutions include Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, Carilion Clinic, and Inova Health System.
Virginia Tech faculty and student researchers may access the portal using a Virginia Tech federated login at Visit iTHRIV Portal.
The portal contains resources about policies, procedures, resources, funding opportunities, statewide research projects, and important contacts at partner locations.
As the iTHRIV portal develops, researchers can use it to access a rich source of patient-centered data, facilitate multi-institutional research collaborations, and conduct clinical and translational research.
Logged-in users can also build a resource pages by clicking the “Add Resource” button in any category. Once an administrator approves the recommendation, it will be live on the site.
Please direct any questions about the portal to iTHRIV@vt.edu.
