Individuals needed for transportation research study
From: Virginia Tech Transportation Institute
The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) is seeking individuals who often use modes of transportation other than driving themselves to participate in a research study that will explore attitudes about new forms of transportation. Participation in this study involves the use of Zoom video conferencing software to connect multiple people electronically from the comfort of their own home or office.
To be eligible, interested individuals must meet the following requirements:
- Be 65 years of age or older.
- Live, work, or volunteer in the New River Valley area of Virginia or Greensboro, N.C.
- Have a tablet or computer with internet service and video conferencing capabilities.
- Prior experience using Zoom with video and audio is preferred.
This project has three parts. During the initial 30-minute session, participants will, via Zoom video conference, review the study information, privately complete questionnaires, and determine whether their electrionic connection to Zoom meeting is eligible to move on to the focus group session. If eligible, the second session will be a focus group with up to five other participants. During this group video conference, participants will view videos of a new type of transportation. The focus group session will take about 75 minutes followed immediately by an exit questionnaire, which should take about 15 minutes.
This project provides compensation of $15 for the initial intake session, $30 for the focus group, and $15 for the completion of the exit questionnaire, for a total of $60 for full participation in all three parts. Participant data will be kept strictly confidential.
