Individuals needed for a research study

The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute  (VTTI) is seeking individuals who have never ridden in a self-driving (driverless) automated vehicle to participate in a research study. Each volunteer must be at least 18 years old and have a valid U.S. driver’s license to participate.

Total participation time consists of one visit to VTTI, lasting between 2 to 3 hours. During the on-road portion, each study participant will ride as a passenger in an automated vehicle at low speeds for about 30 minutes on a controlled test track.

This project provides compensation at a rate of $30/hour (rounded up to the nearest half-hour). Every participant will receive at least $30. All participant data will be kept strictly confidential.

This study is approved by the Virginia Tech Institutional Review Board under IRB #18-007.
