Dining Services hours and operations in response to COVID-19
From: Dining Services
For students intending to return to Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus after the extended spring break, please know that there will be significant changes to Dining Services.
On Tuesday, March 17, Governor Ralph Northam stated that the Commonwealth of Virginia will follow the CDC recommendation to ban all gatherings of 10 or more people. To adhere to recommended social distancing guidelines, Dining Services at Virginia Tech will transition to a takeout and delivery model of service.
Students living on the main Blacksburg campus will only be able to order online through the GrubHub app. Owens Food Court at Owens Hall and Au Bon Pain in Squires Student Center will be the only operating dining centers. Students can also choose to have their food prepared for pick-up or delivered to the lobby of their residence hall. This service will include the student residences on main campus, Oak Lane, The Inn at Virginia Tech, and the Holiday Inn Express. The typical $.49 fee applies for all orders placed.
Owens Food Court will be operating 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. Pick-up only on Sunday, March 22, and pick-up and delivery starting on Monday, March 23.
Au Bon Pain in Squires will operate 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 22 for pick-up only, then operate for pick-up or delivery starting on Monday, March 23 with the following schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Closed Saturday and Sunday
All other dining locations are closed at this time.
These operational changes and services will only occur during the remainder of the spring 2020 semester.
