VT Emergency Management offers 'Stop the Bleed' Training

As part of the Stop the Bleed Program, Bleeding Control (B-Con) training classes are offered through Virginia Tech Emergency Management in partnership with the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad.  Registration is open for spring training sessions. All training sessions will be held in the Public Safety Building 2nd floor Emergency Operations Center (330 Sterrett Drive, Blacksburg VA).

Three classes are currently open for registration;


  • Monday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 30, from 2 to 4 p.m.


The two-hour B-Con training includes the program review, bleeding control information, and hands-on tourniquet and wound management. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

This training is free to all faculty, staff, and students, but registration is required. Visit the website to learn more about the Stop the Bleed Program.
