Online self-scheduling option now exists for those wanting a COVID vaccine

The New River Health District (NRHD) now offers an online self-scheduling tool to enable those who live and work in the New River Valley to make their appointment to receive a vaccine.

Clinics are scheduled for Thursday, April 22 in Blacksburg and April 23 in Christiansburg. To make an appointment, visit Get an Appointment Now. Or call the Vaccine Scheduling Center at 540-838-8222.

The New River Health District (NRHD) now offers an online self-scheduling tool to enable those who live and work in the New River Valley to make their appointment to receive a vaccine.

A clinic will be Friday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. To make an appointment, visit Get an Appointment Now(www.nrvroadtowellness.com/get-an-appointment-now). Or call the Vaccine Scheduling Center at 540-838-8222.

Vaccine appointments are also available in the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts. These include:

Vaccine appointments are still open for clinics at locations in Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and the broader region for the remaining part of this week.

Any Virginia Tech student or employee may sign up for a vaccine by visiting the New River Valley Health District’s website, https://www.nrvroadtowellness.com/get-an-appointment-now.

New appointments available include one at the Blacksburg Community Center on April 15 and another at the Christiansburg Recreation Center on April 16. Appointments will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Vaccine appointments are also available in the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts. These include:

The New River Health Districts has informed Virginia Tech this evening that approximately 500 vaccinations appointments are available on each day, Tuesday, April 13, and Wednesday, April 14. The vaccination clinic is to be held at the Dedmon Center (101 University Drive; Radford, VA) on the Radford University campus from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.

Any Virginia Tech student or employee may sign up for a vaccine by visiting the health district’s website, https://www.nrvroadtowellness.com/get-an-appointment-now. Appointments will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Vaccine appointments are also available in the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts.

Vaccine clinics with available sign-up times in that region:

Pfizer is approved for ages 16+ and Moderna is approved for ages 18+. If 16 or 17 years old, a parent must accompany the minor at the appointment. The Virginia Department of Health does not endorse one COVID-19 vaccine over another. We encourage everyone to take the first vaccine available.

April 11 update: All slots are filled for the April 15 vaccination clinic. Visit the vaccine pre-registration page for information on how to sign up for the vaccine. If you have already pre-registered, go to https://vaccinate.virginia.gov and verify you are in the system and your information is complete.

The New River Health District has coordinated a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for Virginia Tech students to occur at Lane Stadium on Thursday, April 15, beginning at 9 a.m. There are 2,500 slots available for students to receive the first dose of a vaccine. Students can sign up for a time to receive a vaccine by clicking this link. The sign-up is for first doses only. If you have questions about second-dose clinic times and locations, please call 540-838-8222.

In addition to the sign-up times, the site also features two forms for download and completion: A COVID-19 encounter form and an Under 18 Consent form.
