How to give to the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign

To the Virginia Tech community,

As we prepare to honor our veterans on Veteran’s Day, I am reminded of how their service to our country and their sacrifice resulted in better opportunities for us all. I am also reminded that service to our community takes many forms. While most of us may not be able to contribute the tremendous amount of service our great veterans have contributed, each one of us have the ability to serve in small ways. Several small acts have the ability to make a significant impact.

During the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign we can support those charities who work tirelessly to make our community better.

If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to make an individual donation to a charity that is near and dear to your heart. There are also charities on the list who work to provide services and support to our veterans. You can find more information about specific charities on the CVC website at https://www.cvc.hr.vt.edu/.

Ways to Give to the 2017 CVC Campaign

The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) is a voluntary, charitable donation program for state employees. It is a convenient method for employees to voluntarily support a wide range of not-for-profit health and human services organizations. Through payroll deduction, check or cash donations, state employees may contribute to a better community.

Donate Online
The simplest way to give is through an online payroll deduction.

1. Select “online pledge system”

2. Enter your total annual pledge amount.

The per pay period amount will automatically calculate.  Or choose a one-time deduction.  Please note: one-time donations are deducted from the first paycheck of the next calendar year.

3. To designate a specific charity

Click the "Add a Charity" button.

Enter your contribution amount. An amount must be entered in order to "Select" a charity.

You may search for a specific charity by filtering a part of a name or narrow your search by region.

You may learn more about specific charities by clicking on the “Learn More” option.

If a specific charity is not selected, the total amount of your gift will reflect in the “Amount Not Designated” area.

4. Determine acknowledgement

You may select for your gift to be anonymous or acknowledged for tax reporting purposes.

If you select an acknowledgement, your BANNER home address will automatically populate into the appropriate fields.  You will also have the option of changing the information or adding a spouse’s name to the acknowledgement.

5. Click “Submit Pledge” to finalize donation.

After submitting your pledge, you will have the opportunity to print.  An email confirmation will be sent to your Virginia Tech email address for your records.

More details about how to use the pledge system are available at https://www.cvc.hr.vt.edu/.

Traditional Donation

There are other options, too, including cash, check and even stock gifts. To donate in any of these ways, fill out a pledge form and return it by campus mail to CVC Coordinator (0147) or U.S. mail to CVC coordinator, Burruss Hall, room 201R, 800 Drillfield Drive, Blacksburg, VA 24061.
