Changes to HokieMart take effect April 12
A series of enhancements to the university’s e-procurement system HokieMart will take effect Monday, April 12.
These enhancements will significantly alter the user experience, and all HokieMart users should take time to practice with the new environment prior to the go-live April 12 date. When logging into HokieMart, a toggle button in the lower right corner of the landing page allows the user to toggle between the classic experience and the new “UX” user experience that will take effect April 12.
Other system enhancements account for a change in encumbrances. No longer will an encumbrance in Banner be established on requisitions more than $10,000 that require central procurement or ITPALS processing. Instead, the encumbrance will be posted once the purchase order is issued, which will standardize the process for all HokieMart purchase orders, no matter how or by whom they are processed.
Procurement requests that departments refrain from entering requisitions valued at more than $10,000 until the April 12 go-live date. This will eliminate work that would need to be duplicated after the upgrade is in place.
