Dr. Louis Sullivan – renowned health policy leader, minority health advocate, physician, author, and educator – will give the commencement address at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine’s graduation in May.
A member of the founding leadership team at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and a pioneer in the field of interprofessionalism in medical education has been promoted. Richard Vari, the school’s associate dean for medical education, has been named senior dean for academic affairs.
Friday, March 20, was a suspenseful day at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine as 40 soon-to-be doctors tore open envelopes to learn where the next leg of their training would be. And they were in good company, too, as tens of thousands of medical students across the country were anxiously doing the same thing.
The test will occur between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and include the Virginia Tech website, electronic message boards, broadcast emails, the weather/emergency hotline, campus sirens and loudspeakers, VT Phone Alerts, and VT Desktop Alerts.
The public is invited to learn more about heart development and current cardiovascular research during Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute’s first heart school, held as part of American Heart Month.
